The Department of Approvals, LLC (DofA) enables property owners, contractors, and architects to begin construction immediately. Our team specializes in creating detailed mechanical, plumbing, fire alarm, and sprinkler plans that match the increasingly complex building requirements from the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB).
Because of our close relationship with the DOB, we have full knowledge of the latest building codes, construction processes and local laws. Our team will work with you from beginning to end – on preliminary plans, post-approval amendments (PAA), and to the final as-built to ensure your construction jobs are completed and approved.
The DofA is composed of engineers with degrees in mechanical engineering and business from UC Berkeley, Masters degrees (MBA) and engineering certifications from UCLA and NCEES, and extensive experience in working in licensed Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Alarm (MEP / FA) engineering firms in NYC. We specialize in single/multi-family homes, apartments, commercial, and condominium buildings.
Our plans are internally and externally reviewed and certified by Registered Architects (RA) and Professional Engineers (PE). This secondary check gives our customers an added layer of confidence in the reliability of our work. Licensed customers can use their own certifications or we seal ourselves. Our full service model enables us to offer the lowest rates on the market.
